Service
In the fall of 1966, our Peace Corps Group XXV trained at University of California at San Diego, La Jolla and east at Camp Elliott. Our volunteers were Agriculture, Business & Marketing (at least two volunteers worked in finance or accounting), and Community or Rural Development. Peace Corps staff told us Northern Nigeria was ripe for economic development.
Service Started
We flew a Pan American charter from New York City to Dakar, Senegal and then to Lagos. After a day or two at Mainline Hotel, we flew Nigerian Air to Kaduna and stayed at the Hamdala Hotel.
